Why Pasture for Life Consultancy?
Bespoke, farmer-led solutions
We know that grazing animals can regenerate the natural world, communities, and farm businesses. And we also know that each farm and farm business is different, no one size fits all. This is where Pasture for Life consultancy comes in.
Whether entirely new to pasture-based systems or Pasture for Life certified, we know that farmers can face issues that are specific to their farm, their context and their ambitions. And whilst our farmer-to-farmer events, networks, and programmes have become energetic hubs for learning about agroecological grazing, we are often asked for bespoke advice; tailored to a farm business' individual needs.
What makes our consultancy different?
You shape what we offer
You could be a landowner looking to reduce input costs or a new entrant looking to get started with soil health. Either way, we have the expertise to create actionable solutions suited to your context.
Our most requested services are grazing management, specialised animal health and welfare, business planning, environmental monitoring, marketing and sales, and assistance with the Pasture for Life certification process. Sometimes, a request for support in a specific area expands to broader needs, such as full farm business appraisals.
Crucially, consultancy is not about driving you to become Pasture for Life certified or moving you towards a pasture-fed system… unless that is your goal. It’s about building financial resilience for your business.

We are farmers first
You might recognise our consultants as panelists and speakers at industry events, but they were (and still are) farmers first. This means they've experienced the challenges of converting to, trialling, and maintaining agroecological systems first-hand.
The wealth of first-hand experience and knowledge across our consultants means we can shape our offer around your unique needs.
Who is consultancy for?
Consultancy for anyone
Consultancy is for anyone seeking out ways to make their business more profitable by adopting agroecological practices. This ranges from big estates to small startups. ‘Is it feasible to have cattle on this land?’ ‘How much is it going to cost to convert?’ ‘What infrastructure do I need?’ If you are asking yourself questions like these, then consultancy is for you. Consultancy is a service for Pasture for Life members. But if you’re not yet a member, we can easily join today.
